What you wear can help shape the feel of your photos.

My goal is always to create images that feel natural, timeless, and full of connection. A little thoughtful planning when it comes to outfits can make a big difference in how your gallery comes together.

Soft, neutral tones tend to photograph beautifully and help keep the focus where it belongs, on you, your relationships, and the moments you’re sharing, rather than the clothes themselves.

When it comes to couples or families, I always recommend coordinating colours and textures rather than matching exactly. This keeps things feeling effortless, cohesive, and true to your personalities.

Styling is something I genuinely love. When I plan photos for my own family, choosing and coordinating our outfits is one of my favourite parts of the process.

If you ever feel unsure, please know I’m always more than happy to help you choose outfits or offer guidance. Think of this as inspiration, not a set of rules.

Some easy Go-to options:

    •    Cream, ivory, beige

    •    Soft browns, tan, camel

    •    Muted greens like sage or olive

    •    Soft blues

    •    Warm rusts or terracotta

    •    Light denim

These tones reflect light really well and help your images feel airy, calm, and timeless.

A Note on Colour

Colour is always welcome — the key is choosing shades that feel soft and intentional rather than loud or distracting. Muted or earthy tones tend to photograph best. Think sage instead of neon green, rust instead of bright red. Soft florals or subtle pops of colour can add depth and personality without overpowering the moment.

If you love colour, bring it in! It adds warmth and emotion to your images.

Texture Is Your Friend

Layers and texture add so much visual interest to photos.

Things like knits, linen, denim, flowy fabrics, or light layers (jackets, sweaters, button-ups) photograph beautifully and add movement without feeling busy.

For Couples & Families

When planning outfits together, aim to coordinate rather than match. Choosing a shared colour palette and mixing tones, textures, and layers keeps things cohesive while still letting everyone’s personality shine. Think complementary colours instead of everyone wearing the exact same thing.

Most Important Rule

Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. If you feel good, it shows, and that’s what truly creates the best photos.
